Unanimous vote. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Zoning/Moratorium <br />Ord. No. 1585 & Ord. No. 1600 <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Continuance of the Public Hearing. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Posting and reported that no protests <br />or objections had been received. <br />City Attorney Edwards stated this is the continuance of the public hearing to con- <br />sider the extending of Ordinance No. 1585, and Ordinance No. 1600, regarding the <br />moratorium on industrial land uses in the southern portion of the City, and the <br />time to hear statements from those present that desire to speak on this matter. <br />Mrs. Lorenza Vasquez, 677 South 8th Street, spoke in favor of extending Ordinance <br />No. 1585, and the moratorium in South Colton for the boundaries as outlined in <br />Ordinance No. 1600, stating it is important to complete the studies in that area, <br />and also to consider the surrounding residences. Mrs. Vasquez stated that South <br />Colton is not just for industrial or commercial zoning and another wrecking yard <br />is not needed. <br />Mr. Edwin Carroll, 1203 South Rancho, spoke in opposition to extending Ordinance <br />No. 1585 and the moratorium in South Colton, stating he would not like to see the <br />-- City of Colton make the same mistakes that the City of Garden Grove did many years <br />ago by discouraging industry and business from coming into their City. Mr. Carroll <br />said he has several prospective buyers for his property and if he cannot utilize <br />his property as originally intended, maybe someone else can if they are given the <br />chance. Mr. Carroll stated that Colton needs a tax structure, and business and <br />industry is needed in this community. Mr. Carroll asked that three letters, written <br />in his behalf, be read in full at this hearing. <br />Also speaking in opposition to the moratorium and extending the Ordinance were the <br />following: <br />Mrs. Nicky Zafuto, 1201 Jefferson Lane, Colton. <br />Mr. Ralph Guyaux, P. 0.
