RESOLUTION NO. 4197 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALI- 1 so FORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON APRIL 13, 1982, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW. Presentations Councilwoman Garcia presented a bouquet of flowers to Mrs. Lee Gonzales, and presented a plaque to Mayor Frank Gonzales inscribed with his years of service as Mayor for the City of Colton, and also an engraved silver dish honoring Mayor Gonzales for his con- tributions to the community. Mayor Gonzales said he would like to thank all of the people that supported him, not only in this last election, but all of the years he has served as a Member of the City Council. Mayor Gonzales stated he is proud of the accomplishments that have beer made, of working with the City administration, and that he is hopeful Colton will con- tinue to grow and progress. Mayor Gonzales concluded he will be around to assist the City in whatever way that he can. Mayor Gonzales then asked the newly elected Council Members to step forward. City Clerk Ramos administered the Oath of Office to Mayor Albert A. Huntoon, Council- woman Connie Cisneros, and Councilman E. Jerry Rios, and presented each one with Cer- tificates of Election. City Clerk Ramos then presented floral arrangements to Mrs. Pauline Huntoon, Council- woman Cisneros, and Councilman Rios. Mayor Huntoon stated he would just like to say how very happy he was to have been elected Mayor for the City of Colton, and he would like to commend Frank Gonzales for his years of service to the City. Mayor Huntoon said he would serve the City of Colton to the best of his ability and thanked all those that supported him and worked for him during his campaign. Mayor Huntoon then introduced all the members of his family to the audience. Councilwoman Cisneros asked all of the members of her family to stand, thanking them and all of the people that supported her and worked for her during the campaign. Mrs. Cisneros said she was very happy to be serving the City for another term, and would always do her best to listen to the people and serve them in whatever way she could. Councilman Rios said he would like to thank the manager of his campaign, Abe Beltran, and everyone else that had worked so hard for him during the Election. Mr. Rios said he would always maintain an "open door" policy with the people and serve them to the best of his ability. Mr. Rios then introduced all of the members of his family and relatives to the audience. Mayor Pro Tempore Mayor Huntoon then asked for nominations for Mayor Pro Tempore. Councilwoman Garcia nominated Councilman Rehrer for Mayor Pro Tempore. Mayor Huntoon nominated Councilwoman Cisneros for Mayor Pro Tempore. Moved by Councilwoman Garcia, seconded by Councilman Rios, to close the nominations for Mayor Pro Tempore. Unanimous vote. The voting was done by ballot and was counted by City Attorney Edwards and City Clerk Ramos. Councilwoman Cisneros was elected as Mayor Pro Tempore. Resignations Recreation & Parks Commission Councilman Rios read a letter from his wife, Sheila Ann Rios, wherein she stated she would be resigning from the Recreation and Parks Commission. Councilman Rios said he would like to recommend for appointment Mr. Abe Beltran to the Planning Commission and Mrs. Sally Cornejo to the Recreation and Parks Commission. Mayor Huntoon stated there are vacancies names have also been submitted, and these eration.
