RESOLUTION NO. 4197 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALI- <br />1 so FORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br />HELD IN SAID CITY ON APRIL 13, 1982, DECLARING THE RESULT <br />THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW. <br />Presentations <br />Councilwoman Garcia presented a bouquet of flowers to Mrs. Lee Gonzales, and presented <br />a plaque to Mayor Frank Gonzales inscribed with his years of service as Mayor for the <br />City of Colton, and also an engraved silver dish honoring Mayor Gonzales for his con- <br />tributions to the community. <br />Mayor Gonzales said he would like to thank all of the people that supported him, not <br />only in this last election, but all of the years he has served as a Member of the <br />City Council. Mayor Gonzales stated he is proud of the accomplishments that have beer <br />made, of working with the City administration, and that he is hopeful Colton will con- <br />tinue to grow and progress. Mayor Gonzales concluded he will be around to assist the <br />City in whatever way that he can. <br />Mayor Gonzales then asked the newly elected Council Members to step forward. <br />City Clerk Ramos administered the Oath of Office to Mayor Albert A. Huntoon, Council- <br />woman Connie Cisneros, and Councilman E. Jerry Rios, and presented each one with Cer- <br />tificates of Election. <br />City Clerk Ramos then presented floral arrangements to Mrs. Pauline Huntoon, Council- <br />woman Cisneros, and Councilman Rios. <br />Mayor Huntoon stated he would just like to say how very happy he was to have been <br />elected Mayor for the City of Colton, and he would like to commend Frank Gonzales <br />for his years of service to the City. Mayor Huntoon said he would serve the City <br />of Colton to the best of his ability and thanked all those that supported him and <br />worked for him during his campaign. Mayor Huntoon then introduced all the members <br />of his family to the audience. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros asked all of the members of her family to stand, thanking them <br />and all of the people that supported her and worked for her during the campaign. Mrs. <br />Cisneros said she was very happy to be serving the City for another term, and would <br />always do her best to listen to the people and serve them in whatever way she could. <br />Councilman Rios said he would like to thank the manager of his campaign, Abe Beltran, <br />and everyone else that had worked so hard for him during the Election. Mr. Rios said <br />he would always maintain an "open door" policy with the people and serve them to the <br />best of his ability. Mr. Rios then introduced all of the members of his family and <br />relatives to the audience. <br />Mayor Pro Tempore <br />Mayor Huntoon then asked for nominations for Mayor Pro Tempore. <br />Councilwoman Garcia nominated Councilman Rehrer for Mayor Pro Tempore. <br />Mayor Huntoon nominated Councilwoman Cisneros for Mayor Pro Tempore. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Garcia, seconded by Councilman Rios, to close the nominations <br />for Mayor Pro Tempore. Unanimous vote. <br />The voting was done by ballot and was counted by City Attorney Edwards and City Clerk <br />Ramos. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros was elected as Mayor Pro Tempore. <br />Resignations <br />Recreation & Parks Commission <br />Councilman Rios read a letter from his wife, Sheila Ann Rios, wherein she stated she <br />would be resigning from the Recreation and Parks Commission.
