CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Permits <br />241 <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, approving Annual <br />Dance Permit requested by Movieland Frontier Town at 1349 West Valley Boulevard. <br />Unanimous vote. <br />City Property <br />Acting City Manager Phil Elliott reported on an offer to purchase City property by <br />the Chino Valley Bank, who propose to construct a bank in the area of La Cadena <br />Drive and "H" Street, and request the purchase of these parcels for motor banking <br />and parking lot. The City property involved is between Judy's Delicatessen and <br />Kentucky Fried Chicken. <br />Mr. Elliott said Staff recommends that Council authorize Staff to obtain an appraisal <br />of the City -owned property to be reviewed by Council at a later date for their <br />further consideration of the sale. <br />Mr. Jim Cooper, Vice President and Cashier of the Chino Valley Bank, advised the <br />Bank intends to renovate the building at the corner of La Cadena Drive and "H" <br />Street to suit their banking needs, and they are interested in the adjoining lot <br />in question for parking purposes. Mr. Cooper stated they would be transferring <br />several of their employees to the Colton Branch, however, they would also be hir- <br />ing approximately 10 more people. <br />After additional discussion, moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman <br />7 Rios, authorizing Staff to obtain an appraisal on the City's parcel of land in <br />Q question, not to exceed $10,000, and report back to the City Council. Vote was <br />Q unanimous. <br />Agreement <br />Mr. Elliott referred to his memorandum dated July 27, 1982, with regard to a pro- <br />posed Agreement between the City of Colton and Vincent's Commercial Refrigeration <br />for regular maintenance service of the City's twenty-six aire conditioning units, <br />plus seven restroom and kitchen exhaust units. <br />Mr. Elliott continued that Mr. Vince Caputo, owner of the refrigeration business, is <br />agreeable to maintaining the equipment for $35. per month per air conditioning unit <br />and for no charge, with regard to the restroom and kitchen exhaust units, a total of <br />$910. per month; in addition, Mr. Caputo would charge for authorized repairs at <br />$35. per hour, and such repairs would be done only upon specific written instruc- <br />tions given at an appropriate time of need. <br />Mr. Elliott concluded Staff recommends the proposed agreement with Vincent's Com- <br />mercial Refrigeration, to maintain and repair equipment, be approved. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to approve Agreement <br />between City of Colton and Vincent's Commercial Refrigeration for maintaining and <br />repairing City's air conditioning equipment. <br />Councilwoman Garcia questioned the charges of $910 per month, plus the fee of $35. <br />per unit, plus $35. per hour for authorized repairs, stating these charges were not <br />clear to her, or what exactly they were for, and she would like to have this infor- <br />mation before making a decision on this agreement. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros stated she would withdraw her motion; Councilman Rios stated <br />he would withdraw his second to the motion. <br />On Council consensus, this matter was continued until the next regular Council Meet- <br />- ing, August 17, 1982. <br />Fees/Rates <br />Mr. Elliott reported on a request from Courtesy Ambulance for an increase in rates <br />for services as outlined in Resolution No. 4239. Mr. Elliott said Staff recommends <br />approval of Resolution No. 4239. <br />Mr. John Howe, representing Courtesy Ambulance Services, referred to their report <br />submitted to the Council substantiating their request for an increase in rates for <br />services. Mr. Howe said it has been several years since their last request for an <br />increase, and due to inflation, etc., the increases have become necessary. <br />Discussion followed between Mr. Howe and the Council Members with regard to Courtesy's <br />services in Colton and surrounding cities, the response time, their operations in con- <br />junction with our Paramedic Program, etc. <br />r': U j � 1982 <br />
