RESOLUTION NO. 4189 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CA% 9 <br />FORNIA, ORDERING THE CANVASS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br />TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, APRIL 13, 1982, TO BE MADE BY THE CITY <br />CLERK. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Patitionc <br />Mr. James Rich, resident of the Lake Cadena Mobile Home Park, presented a petition <br />to the City Council containing approximately 39 signatures, requesting that the <br />City Council and/or Planning Commission assure enforcement of the zoning ordinance, <br />and that if the management and/or Church of the Valley use any of the park facili- <br />ties for a church, or church activities, all tenants in the park be notified of any <br />public hearings regarding the operation of a church and related activities in the <br />park. <br />Mr. Rich concluded they also request that no resident or tenant of Lake Cadena be <br />permitted to give an opinion and/or judgement on behalf of the City on these issues. <br />Mayor Gonzales informed Mr. Rich that this Petition will be forwarded to the Planning <br />Commission for its meeting next Tuesday, March 9, 1982. <br />Library <br />N Mr. Dean Carter, 800 North Second Street, questioned the financing and costs involved <br />(y) for the proposed Library building. <br />7 <br />Q City Manager Trevino stated that these figures would have to be obtained from Best, <br />Q Best & Krieger. <br />Councilman Rehrer stated he had some figures available in the packet of material sub- <br />mitted by Best, Best & Krieger, if Mr. Carter wanted to look at them. <br />Mrs. Betty Cook, 844 Edgehill Drive, also asked questions concerning the public hear- <br />ings that were held on the proposed Library, and asked if these funds would also in- <br />clude the furnishings for the inside of the Library. <br />Mayor Gonzales answered that shelving and other appurtenances would be provided, how- <br />ever, it would not include all furnishings. <br />Mrs. Joan Spencer, 857 Edgehill Drive, asked what will be done with the existing <br />Library, after the new Library is built, stating she was concerned that it might <br />be torn down. <br />Councilwoman Garcia stated the City is taking steps to preserve the existing Library <br />as an historical site and cultural center. <br />Mr. Wes Hayden, 279 West Litton Street, asked what the City has decided to do with <br />the refund monies from Southern California Edison. <br />Councilwoman Garcia stated that at the last Council Meeting, February 16, 1982, the <br />City Council approved and adopted the recommendations of the Utilities Commission <br />with regard to the balance of refund monies from Southern California Edison Company. <br />Mrs. Garcia then read this information to Mr. Hayden. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia and unanimously passed, <br />Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 8:30 p. m. <br />HELEN A.RAMOS, CMC <br />City Clerk <br />City of Colton <br />Approved this 16th day of March, 1982. <br />1f1An 2 1982 <br />
