<br />bill, in the amount of $21,820.65, from Matich Corporation for emer-
<br />gency repair of the broken sewer line at La Cadena Drive and the
<br />Santa Ana River.
<br />After discussion, moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Council-
<br />man Rios, approving payment of $21,820.65, to Matich Corporation, for
<br />repair of sewer line as outlined by Staff. Unanimous vote.

<br />COLTON AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
<br />COLTON TO SIGN AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE
<br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
<br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IN ORDER THAT THE CITY OF
<br />COLTON BE CONSIDERED FOR FUNDING OF A GRANT IN
<br />THE AMOUNT OF $600,000 FOR THE PURPOSE OF CREAT-
<br />ING A HOUSING REHABILITATION PROGRAM.
<br />Mr. Aguilera then reported to the City Council that on February 16,

<br />1983, the City was notified by the U. S. Department of Housing and
<br />Urban Development that we had been awarded a $500,000 Community De-
<br />velopment Block Grant, which is the same Grant the City applied
<br />for in November for the purpose of installing new sewer lines and
<br />Q
<br />making low-interest loans to people so that they could pay for the
<br />Q
<br />connections to the new sewer lines. It is now Staff's responsibility
<br />to complete an Environmental Review of the project and submit it to
<br />H.U.D.; once this is done, the City may then begin to allocate the
<br />funds received, however, before this can take place, the City must
<br />agree to accept the Grant and sign the Contract with the federal gov-
<br />ernment.
<br />Mr. Aguilera concluded if Council concurs with this report, a motion
