Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to ap- prove the Consent Calendar, with deletion of Item Nos. 6, 7, 8 and 10. Unanimous vote. MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: Resolutions Mayor Huntoon read in full a Resolution honoring the late Mr. L. J. Snow, the business established by him, and his family, for the many contributions to the City of Colton. The Resolution was accepted by Mrs. Gladys Snow, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Vickers. Mayor Huntoon read in full a Resolution of Commendation & Congratu- lations honoring Luis Fernando Magrin, an American Field Service Student from Brazil. The Resolution was accepted by Luis Magrin. Mayor Huntoon also read in full a Certificate of Appreciation which was given to Paula Peterson, Coordinator of the American Field Serv- ice program, for her contributions and services. (� PUBLIC HEARINGS: 7 Q Street Vacations Q Res. No. 4334 Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open. City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that no protests or objections had been received. Director of Community Services Joe McGee reported on the abandonment of certain street rights-of-way, pursuant to adjacent property owner's request, more specifically described as Citrus Street, Lot 8, Colton Land and Water Company Subdivision, Recorded in Book 1 of Maps, Page 40, Records of San Bernardino County, State of California. Mr. McGee concluded Staff recommends approval of this street vacation, and if Council concurs, it would be in order to adopt Resolution No. 4334. Mayor Huntoon asked if anyone present desired to speak in favor of or in opposition to this matter. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Rios, the Public Hearing was terminated. Unanimous vote. Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to ap- prove Resolution No. 4334. Motion carried, Mayor Huntoon abstained. RESOLUTION NO. 4334 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF CITRUS STREET. CORRESPONDENC City Manager Elliott referred to a letter dated May 26, 1983, from Richard L. Jacobsen, Superintendent of Colton Joint Unified School District, regarding anticipated student impaction at Terrace Hills Junior High School created in part by students living within the City of Colton. Mr. Elliott advised the Board of Education requests that the City Council consider adopting an ordinance which would allow builder's fees to be instituted when impaction exists. Mr. Elliott concluded the District stated they would like to meet with the Council and Staff in the resolution of the student housing program. JUN 7 1983
