Recommend <br />denial. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to ap- <br />prove the Consent Calendar, with deletion of Item Nos. 6, 7, 8 and <br />10. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Resolutions <br />Mayor Huntoon read in full a Resolution honoring the late Mr. L. J. <br />Snow, the business established by him, and his family, for the many <br />contributions to the City of Colton. The Resolution was accepted <br />by Mrs. Gladys Snow, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Vickers. <br />Mayor Huntoon read in full a Resolution of Commendation & Congratu- <br />lations honoring Luis Fernando Magrin, an American Field Service <br />Student from Brazil. The Resolution was accepted by Luis Magrin. <br />Mayor Huntoon also read in full a Certificate of Appreciation which <br />was given to Paula Peterson, Coordinator of the American Field Serv- <br />ice program, for her contributions and services. <br />(� PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />7 <br />Q Street Vacations <br />Q Res. No. 4334 <br />Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported <br />that no protests or objections had been received. <br />Director of Community Services Joe McGee reported on the abandonment <br />of certain street rights-of-way, pursuant to adjacent property owner's <br />request, more specifically described as Citrus Street, Lot 8, Colton <br />Land and Water Company Subdivision, Recorded in Book 1 of Maps, Page <br />40, Records of San Bernardino County, State of California. <br />Mr. McGee concluded Staff recommends approval of this street vacation, <br />and if Council concurs, it would be in order to adopt Resolution No. <br />4334. <br />Mayor Huntoon asked if anyone present desired to speak in favor of or <br />in opposition to this matter. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Rios, the Public <br />Hearing was terminated. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to ap- <br />prove Resolution No. 4334. Motion carried, Mayor Huntoon abstained. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4334 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE ABANDONMENT <br />OF A PORTION OF CITRUS STREET. <br />CORRESPONDENC <br />City Manager Elliott referred to a letter dated May 26, 1983, from <br />Richard L. Jacobsen, Superintendent of Colton Joint Unified School <br />District, regarding anticipated student impaction at Terrace Hills <br />Junior High School created in part by students living within the City <br />of Colton. <br />Mr. Elliott advised the Board of Education requests that the City <br />Council consider adopting an ordinance which would allow builder's <br />fees to be instituted when impaction exists. <br />Mr. Elliott concluded the District stated they would like to meet <br />with the Council and Staff in the resolution of the student housing <br />program. <br />JUN 7 1983 <br />
