s <br />City Attorney stated in order to properly put this increase into <br />effect, the Council would need to adopt an ordinance after budget <br />sessions. Council will refer back to Page 181. <br />Community Developement Budget - no substantial increases. <br />Library: <br />City Librarian Hornburg explained the mixup on Pages 579 and 580 stat- <br />ing that an additional amount of $5,154.00 would be needed on page 580 <br />to maintain the same level of existing positions. This would reflect <br />a new total of $32,545 on Page 580. <br />Recreation: <br />Page 599, Director Lofy stated he would like to delete the director <br />at Davis Park and retain the director at Veterans Park. <br />Page 604, Councilman Rios stated he would like to look into obtaining <br />a new PA System. Council will refer back to Page 604. <br />Pages 609 and 611, Director Lofy stated this request is for a new <br />staff car. <br />Page 614, Council stated they would like a review of the time spent <br />away from the Luque Center by the Facility Coordinator. <br />Councilman Rehrer asked Director Lofy if anyone had ever looked into <br />dropping the ceiling at the Hutton Center. Councilman Rehrer was of <br />the opinion that the savings in the utilities would cover the cost of <br />dropping the ceiling. Council will review this possibility, Page 620. <br />Page 630, discussion was held with regard to Lonnie's Contract. City <br />Manager Elliott responding to a question as to why we still have this <br />contract, stated that the Water Maintenance Man has not always been <br />available at the precise time that Lonnie is working at the plunge on <br />a problem. Mr. Elliott said that more and more the pool and city <br />electric personnel have been learning to handle the work. <br />Mr. Lofy said that just today, Lonnie had agreed to a $2,000 decrease <br />in his contract. Page 630 will reflect an adjustment. <br />Discussion was held on extending the time the pool is open into <br />August. Mr. Lofy said this could be tried, however, traditionally <br />attendance has dropped toward the end of the season. <br />Personnel - Director Lofy said at the last regular Council Meeting <br />the matter of hiring two part-time park maintenance people from the <br />interest on the revenue of the Park Development Fund. Mr. Lofy asked <br />if this was the appropriate time to discuss this matter. City Manager <br />Elliott he would set a time at a later date. <br />Bleachers - Mr. Lofy said they are short one set of bleachers at <br />McKinley and he would like Council authority to purchase the bleachers <br />from the interest revenue of the Park Development Fund with the cur- <br />rent order of budget bleachers. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to <br />approve the Director's request for the purchase of bleachers for <br />McKinley School. Unanimous vote. <br />Lake Cadena Mobile Home Park <br />City Manager Elliott stated the electric department has discovered <br />two areas where the wires were burned. Mr. Elliott said at the <br />present time the men are trading off in three's, allowing for them <br />to go home to rest and sleep. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />JUN 12 11984 <br />
