CORRESPONDENCE: Legal Matters City Manager Elliott referred to a letter from David R. Philbrick, representing the residents of Lake Cadena Mobile Home Park, regard- ing rent stabilization. Mr. Eldon J. Green, Lake Cadena Mobile Home Park, Space 1194, spoke on behalf of the residents of the mobile home park, and read a state- ment to the City Council. pointing out the amount of increases in rent in the last several years, the deterioration of the park, and the residents requests that the Mayor and Council come to their aid, which would not only help the residents, but eliminate the need to pursue the matter with other means at their disposal. Mr. Green concluded the residents request that this matter be acted upon by the City Council within the next 30 days, and that they be placed on the Agenda again at that time. Mayor Huntocn and City Manager Elliott assured Mr. Green that Staff will be looking into this matter, and that it would be placed on the Agenda next month. Weed Abatement City Manager Elliott reported from a letter dated January 11, 1934, from Syble Williams, regarding a serious tumbleweed problem in the north end of Colton, particularly West Fur Street. Syble Williams, 529 West Fur Street, Colton, stated she has been at- tempting to gather as many of the tumbleweeds as possible, and throw them back over her fence into the vacant lot to the north where they pile up, however, on very windy days, the tumbleweeds roll all over. Director of Community Services Joe McGee stated that Staff is working with the City of San Bernardino on this problem, and they are attempt- ing to clear up the source of the tumbleweeds to alleviate the prob- lem. City Manager Elliott assured Mrs. Williams that the City of Colton and the City of San Bernardino will make every effort to control and al- leviate this problem with the tumbleweeds.
