If ap- <br />proved, this would require the establishing of a new job classifi- <br />cation and corresponding description of the work duties. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to <br />refer this matter to the Budget Sessions for review. Vote was <br />unanimous. <br />Parks <br />Reche Canyon Park <br />The item concerning Reche Canyon Park was withdrawn from the Agenda. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Personnel/Salaries <br />City Manager Elliott referred to his memorandum dated May 21, 1984, <br />relating to Department Head Salaries, advising that this item will <br />be referred to the upcoming Budget Sessions. <br />Mr. Bob Elliott, representing the San Bernardino Public Employees <br />Association, asked if someone would be able to address the City <br />Council on this matter during the Budget Sessions. <br />Mayor Huntoon assured Mr. Elliott that anyone may address the Council <br />on any matter during the Budget Sessions. <br />Budget <br />City Manager Elliott stated that the Council Members have been given <br />copies of the Preliminary Budget, and Staff would recommend setting <br />a date for the first Budget Session. <br />On Council consensus, the date of Monday, June 11, and Tuesday, June <br />12, 1984, were set for Budget Session Meetings. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mr. Jerry Wiesman, representing the Toastmasters Club 112793, made a <br />presentation to the City Council, commending them for allowing the <br />Toastmasters to use the Colton Public Library for their meetings. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Mayor Huntoon, approving <br />casual dress for the Council Members during the summer months, until <br />the first Regular Meeting in October. Unanimous vote. <br />Mr. John Morales, 950 Laurel Street, and Mr. Arlie Hubbard, 140 <br />Orangewood, spoke to the Council about a water and drainage problem <br />in front of Paul J. Rodgers School that was creating a health and <br />safety hazard. <br />City Manager Elliott assured the residents that the City is attempt- <br />ing to do everything possible to alleviate this problem, and the City <br />will also seek alternative methods to get the matter cleaned up. <br />Mr. Jack N. Kagarise, 1058 West I1 Street, and other residents of the <br />area, spoke to the City Council with regard to the prezoning and an- <br />nexation of the property east of Cypress Avenue, north of Valley <br />Boulevard, south of "G" Street, and west of Grand Avenue, advising <br />there had been a petition presented to the Planning Commission, dur- <br />ing that public hearing, in opposition to the annexation and prezon- <br />ing. <br />City Attorney Edwards explained to the residents that the prezoning <br />of this property has been set for public hearing and will be heard <br />by the City Council at the meeting scheduled for June 19, 1984, and <br />the annexation has been scheduled for public hearing on Tuesday, <br />July 17, 1984.
