Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Resolution of Commendation <br />Mayor Huntoon read in full a Resolution of Commendation honoring <br />Mr. Claude E. Willis, Director of AV -COM Law Enforcement Media of <br />Laguna Beach, and producer of the program "PROTECT OUR CHILDREN", <br />which won the second highest award, a Silver Medal, at the Inter- <br />national Film and TV Festival in New York, November, 1983. <br />Mr. Willis accepted the Resolution of Commendation, stating it was <br />an honor for him to be in Colton this evening for this event, and <br />said he especially wanted to thank and commend the Colton Police De- <br />partment for their participation in this Program. Mr. Willis then <br />presented Acting Police Chief Paul Connolly with the Silver Medal <br />Award for the City of Colton. Mr. Willis also presented an Award to <br />Bill Harms, Crime Prevention Officer, for his service and assistance. <br />Mayor Huntoon announced there willbe a film presentation, of approxi- <br />mately 27 minutes, immediately following the meeting this evening, and <br />encouraged everyone to stay and see it. <br />SANBAG <br />Mayor Huntoon referred to a memo from Wesley C. McDaniel, SANBAG <br />City Selection Committee, correcting an earlier memo dated Febru- <br />ary 21, 1984, with regard to the City of Fontana's Election, which <br />will be held in November, rather than April as previously stated. <br />RECREATION_ AND PARKS COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Bids <br />Recreation Director Max Lofy made a presentation regarding authoriza- <br />tion to advertise for two separate bids on Iron Mountain Forge equip- <br />ment, or the equal thereof, and installation and related labor perti- <br />nent and affixed to Iron Mountain Forge equipment or the equal there- <br />,.,,, of, for park improvements. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Rios, authorizing <br />and approving advertising for Bids for Park Improvements as outlined <br />by Staff. Unanimous vote. <br />Appointments <br />Mayor Huntoon advised there is a vacancy on the Recreation and Parks <br />Commission and he would like to submit the name of Frank Navarro for <br />appointment. <br />Councilman Rehrer stated he would like to table this matter until the <br />next regular meeting, as he would also like to submit someone for ap- <br />pointment. <br />HIR 6 198it <br />
