No. 4513
Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open.
City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported
that no protests or objections had been received.
Planning Director Aguilera reported the applicant has erected an ille-
gal sign on property located at 132 Acacia Street, Colton, which was
constructed approximately November, 1983, without obtaining a Building
Permit, or approval from the Planning Commission and City Council, as
required by City Ordinances. Mr. Aguilera advised the City received a
complaint regarding the illegal sign from another sign company, prev-
viously denied a permit for a similar sign in the approximate location.
Mr. Aguilera continued the applicant did not meet the requirements of
the Zoning Ordinance, and outlined the Sections in violation, and
therefore applied for a Variance. The Planning Commission considered
this matter at public hearing, August 28, 1984, and denied the applic-
cation as outlined in Planning Commission Resolution No. 2021.
Mr. Aguilera said subsequently, the applicant filed an Appeal on that
decision.
Mr. Aguilera concluded the Planning Commission strongly recommends that
the Appeal be denied for the reasons as outlined in Planning Commission
Resolution No. 2021, and if. Councilconcurs, approval of Resolution No.
4513 would be in order.
OCT 16 1984
