Mayor Gonzales stated he would also request that Staff check into the <br />problem with the resident having the excessive amount of dogs, as re- <br />lated by Mr. Martinez. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mr. John Longfield, 1809 Cottonwood Drive, and Letitia Allen Seymour, <br />1818 Cottonwood Drive, spoke to the Council Members regarding problems <br />with their homes, and the owners/developers, in the Americana Homes <br />tract, specifically concerning the use of non -galvanized nails on the <br />houses, which have now rusted, repainting of the homes, which the <br />majority of residents do not feel is adequate, and a five year warranty <br />which is very vague and does not spell out what is actually covered and <br />does not have a damage clause. Mrs. Seymour also referred to a letter <br />received from Jaime Aguilera, Director of Community Development, with <br />regard to these items. Mrs. Seymour stated that many Code violations <br />still exist and nothing is being done about it, and wanted to know who <br />was responsible for enforcement. <br />Director of Community Development Aguilera stated these homes have not <br />been finalized, and inspections will be made before and after these items <br />are corrected and completed. Mr. Aguilera advised that $300,000 in <br />bonds is being held by the City until these repairs are completed. Mr. <br />Aguilera said Staff would be very happy to sit down again with the home- <br />owners and discuss these matters. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />Councilwoman Garcia requested a Closed Session with the City Council <br />relating to Personnel Matters. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Garcia, seconded by Councilman Rios, approving <br />request for a Closed Session relating to Personnel Matters. Upon Roll <br />Call, the Vote was: Ayes: Five; Rios, Cisneros, Rehrer, Garcia, Gonzales; <br />Noes: None. Absent: None. Motion carried unanimously. <br />The City Council adjourned to Closed Session at 8:55 p. m., to discuss <br />Personnel Matters, pursuant to Government Code Section 54957, and re- <br />convened at 9:40 p. m., all Members present. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />There being no further business to come before the City Council at this <br />time, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 9:42 p. m. <br />HELEN A.
