(9) Parks <br />Request for use of Fleming Park, Rebecca Jimenez, Saturday, July 8, <br />1989, from 12:00 to 7:00 p. m., for a wedding. <br />(10) Budget <br />Authorization to transfer Federal. LSCA Library Literacy Grant <br />Monies to Library Expenditure Account, Budget Adjustment. <br />(11) Claims <br />Brian Walsh vs. City of Colton. Recommend denial. <br />(12) Cemetery <br />Amendment to Cemetery Fees Resolution, RESOLUTION NO. R-125-88. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to approve <br />the Consent Calendar. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />Presentations <br />Mayor Gonzales presented a Plaque to Colin Pay, Firefighter, for his out- <br />standing Act of Heroism. <br />Boards & Commissions <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilman Lofy, ratifying reappoint- <br />ment of Margaret Matich to the Civil Service Board. Unanimous vote. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Appeal. <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that <br />the City Council has before them a letter of protest from Kenneth Lorenz, <br />M.D. Mrs. Ramos further reported that Mr. Joe Alberts is in the audience <br />and has asked to address the Council. <br />Community Development Director Jaime Aguilera reported several months ago <br />the Planning Commission approved the neighborhood shopping center located <br />on the northeast corner of Washington Street and Meadow Lane, currently <br />under construction. As part of that approval, the Planning Commission ap- <br />proved a corner building which was to be a "Stop -N -Go" convenience store. <br />Since the approval, the applicant has decided to propose a service station <br />as part of the convenience store. The Zoning Ordinance requires that all <br />service stations be processed through Conditional Use Permit procedures. <br />Mr. Aguilera continued the General Plan for the area is designated as Gen- <br />eral Commercial, and the proposed use is consistent with the 1986 revised <br />2 <br />
