(7) Zoning <br />Set for Public Hearing, Tuesday, February 16, 1988, Prezoning <br />of County property, R -E, to be annexed into the City of Colton, <br />South 45, and Negative Declaration. <br />(8) Agreements <br />Revision of Southern California Joint Pole Agreement. <br />(9) Claims <br />Patrick Caslin, Marina Rojas, Nicholas Evans, Richard Jensen, <br />versus the City of Colton. Recommend denial. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to approve <br />the Consent Calendar, deleting Item No. 6. Unanimous vote. <br />MAVnR ANT) CnTTNCTT. TTFMS <br />Boards & Commissions <br />Mayor Gonzales stated twelve applications have been received from in- <br />dividuals desiring to serve on the Historic and Scenic Preservation <br />Commission, from which seven will be appointed as Members. <br />Seven names were picked by ballot, drawn by Pastor Anderson, and four <br />Members, J. Michael Burrows, Bette Cook, Hazel Olson, Brian Smith, <br />will serve two year terms, with Danny Carrasco, Jane Judy Luna, Josiane <br />Lynne Roman, serving four year terms. On Council consensus, the re- <br />maining five individuals will serve as Alternates. <br />Staff was directed to amend the Ordinance, No. 0-11-87, to provide for <br />alternate commission members. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Traffic Conditions <br />xecne canyon Area <br />Mr. Mel Albiso, 2575 Carbon Court, Colton, spoke to the Council with <br />regard to the current traffic situation in Reche Canyon, requesting <br />that the City take some measures to alleviate the problems and con- <br />gestion, and work with the Counties of San Bernardino and Riverside <br />to this end. Mr. Albiso suggested establishing a Blue Ribbon Committee <br />to study and assist with these problems. <br />City Manager Benest advised the City's Traffic Committee has been very <br />concerned about this area. Mr. Benest stated Staff has also been work- <br />ing with the Counties of San Bernardino and Riverside, and the City of <br />Loma Linda. Mr. Benest said the City will be requesting proposals from <br />consultants sometime this month, to make a total review of the Canyon. <br />2 <br />
