Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />Boards & Commissions <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, ratifying <br />Mayor's reappointment of Henry Mendoza to the Utilities Commission. <br />Unanimous vote. <br />Certificates of Commendation <br />Mayor Gonzales presented Certificates of Commendation to all the City <br />department representatives that worked on the 1987 United Way Campaign. <br />City Manager Benest advised the contributions from all departments ex- <br />ceeded last year's by approximately 200%, amounting to $14,300. Mr. <br />Benest also commended the Campaign Team for a job well done. <br />Mr. Maurice Meyers, Member of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, <br />and United Way Campaign Chairman also commended the City for its con- <br />tributions and participation in the United Way Campaign. <br />PTTRT.Tr 14F.ARTN(tq - <br />UDAG <br />Mayor Gonzales announced that the Public Hearing on the Urban Develop- <br />ment Action Grant Program will be continued to Tuesday, January 19, <br />1988. <br />PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Wastewater Treatment <br />Ord. No. 0-1-88 <br />City Manager Benest reported on a proposed ordinance providing for user <br />payment of wastewater sampling and analysis. <br />Mr. Benest stated currently, the private company discharging the waste- <br />water pays for the cost of the laboratory analysis and report, and the <br />proposed ordinance would formalize this practice so that the expense of <br />such laboratory studies and reports, together with an administrative <br />fee, would be reimbursed to the City by the user, the sewer customer. <br />Mr. Benest advised the administrative fee shall be fixed by the City <br />Manager based on the City's current overhead cost allocation percentage, <br />which is 5%. <br />2 <br />
