J. <br />Roupe & Associates. <br />Ms. Keane concluded Staff was recommending to proceed with hiring an in- <br />house Data Processing Coordinator as proposed. <br />Councilman Rios stated in the future he would like to see a typewritten <br />report on these matters, so that he could have had something to compare <br />with the consultant's report. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros stated because the report given was quite lengthy, <br />she would not be in a position to make a decision this evening on this <br />matter. <br />On Council consensus, the matter of options for Computer Programming was <br />continued to the next regular Council Meeting, June 21, 1988. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Budget Sessions <br />After review of the Budget Session Schedule as presented by the City <br />Manager, the City Council and Staff decided on the dates of June 14, <br />June 23, June 28, and June 29, 1988, at 5:30 p. m., for the schedule <br />of Budget Sessions. <br />Grants <br />City Manager Benest reviewed his memorandum regarding an end -of -the -year <br />Grants Report, advising that various grants had been received from five <br />different City departments totalling $1,259,201. for 1987-88, with an <br />amount of $689,815. committed for 1988-89, for a grand total of <br />$19949,016. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros stated she would like to commend all those that <br />had worked on obtaining these Grants. <br />Councilwoman Garcia stated she would like to thank Pam Grady for her <br />assistance and expertise with the City's Grants Program. <br />Closed Session <br />City Manager Benest requested a Closed Session at the end of the meet- <br />ing regarding Pending Litigation. <br />Ordinance No. 0-18-88 <br />First Reading <br />'^ Assistant City Manager Leslie Keane reported on reintroducing Ordinance <br />No. 0-18-88 for First Reading, which establishes a process for the assess - <br />4 <br />
