Mr. Benest stated Staff recommends the City Council continue this matter <br />to the meeting of November 15, 1988, after the close of the public hear- <br />ing. <br />Mr. Benest advised that Mr. Michael Riddel, of Best, Best & Krieger, Legal <br />Counsel, is also present this evening if the Council Members have any <br />questions. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. <br />Mr. G. W. Singletary, 1733 Massachusetts Avenue, Riverside, stated he and <br />approximately 80 percent of the registered voters residing within the <br />boundaries of the proposed Annexation South 44 protest this annexation <br />and request termination of the proceedings. Mr. Singletary also referred <br />to the Petition submitted to the City Clerk protesting the annexation. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to close the <br />Public Hearing.
