Vote was unanimous. MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: Proclamations Councilwoman Cisneros read in full a Proclamation declaring the week of October 21-17, 1990, as National Business Women's Week. Individual Proclamations were accepted by Angie Cordova, President, Women's Division, Colton Chamber of Commerce; Catherine Van Moos, Zonta Club; Georgia Cordova, President, Lioness Club; Ruth Bruner, Colton Women's Club and Dee Sims, President, Business and Profession Women's Club. Mayor Gonzales read in full a Proclamation declaring the week of October 20-28, 1990, as Red Ribbon Week, accepted by Police Chief Connolly. Councilman Rios read in full a Proclamation declaring the extension of the Buckle -up for Life Challenge from November 1, 1990 through 1991. Councilwoman Cisneros brought up a concern that the City Council has not recognized our military service personnel involved in the Persian Gulf crisis and requested that a resolution be brought to Council. Appointments Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, approving and ratifying re -appointment of Dr. Renald J. Anelle and Naomi Carpen- ter to the Library Board of Trustees. Unanimous vote. PUBLIC HEARINGS: Zone Change Vanir Development Co City Attorney Edwards requested that the Public Hearing to consider request from Vanir Development Company (Merle and Betty Workman) for extension on Zone Change, A-4-88, File Index No. D-73-88 be be continued to December 14, 1990. On Council consensus, the Public Hearing was continued to December 14, 1990. ABANDONMENT Portion of "J" Street Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open to consider ordering the Abandonment of a Portion of "J" Street. City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that no protests or objections had been received.
