Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Lofy to approve <br />the Consent Calendar, with the deletion of Item 6 & 9 to be discussed <br />under the City Attorney's Reports and Recommendations. Vote was <br />unanimous. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />Proclamations <br />Councilwoman Cisneros read in full a Proclamation declaring the week of <br />October 21-17, 1990, as National Business Women's Week. Individual <br />Proclamations were accepted by Angie Cordova, President, Women's <br />Division, Colton Chamber of Commerce; Catherine Van Moos, Zonta Club; <br />Georgia Cordova, President, Lioness Club; Ruth Bruner, Colton Women's <br />Club and Dee Sims, President, Business and Profession Women's Club. <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a Proclamation declaring the week of October <br />20-28, 1990, as Red Ribbon Week, accepted by Police Chief Connolly. <br />Councilman Rios read in full a Proclamation declaring the extension of <br />the Buckle -up for Life Challenge from November 1, 1990 through 1991. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros brought up a concern that the City Council has <br />not recognized our military service personnel involved in the Persian <br />Gulf crisis and requested that a resolution be brought to Council. <br />Appointments <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, approving <br />and ratifying re -appointment of Dr. Renald J. Anelle and Naomi Carpen- <br />ter to the Library Board of Trustees. Unanimous vote. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Zone Change <br />Vanir Development Co <br />City Attorney Edwards requested that the Public Hearing to consider <br />request from Vanir Development Company (Merle and Betty Workman) <br />for extension on Zone Change, A-4-88, File Index No. D-73-88 be <br />be continued to December 14, 1990. <br />On Council consensus, the Public Hearing was continued to December 14, <br />1990. <br />ABANDONMENT <br />Portion of "J" Street <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open to consider ordering the <br />Abandonment of a Portion of "J" Street. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported <br />that no protests or objections had been received. <br />
