Mr. Hutton concluded Staff recommends that at the conclusion of the <br />Public Hearing, if no protests have been submitted concerning the <br />Engineer's Report or the levying of assessments, Council approve the <br />Engineer's Report and adopt Resolution Nos. R-56-91 and R-63-91. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Lofy, to close <br />the Public Hearing. R-63-91 - RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CONTINUED OPERATION OF <br />THE CITY OF COLTON LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DIS- <br />TRICT NO. 1 CONFIRMING THE ASSESSMENT AND DIA- <br />GRAM AND ORDERING LEVY AND COLLECTION OF <br />SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1991-92. <br />PARKS, RECREATION & HUMAN SERVICES DIRECTOR'S REPORTS & RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Before Parks, Recreation & Human Services Director Gaytan began with his <br />reports, Councilman Roman referred to a letter from Parks & Recreation <br />Commission Chairperson, Deirdre Bennett, stating the Commission has not <br />seen or reviewed Item Nos. 23 and 25, and would like to do so before <br />being presented to the City Council. <br />Discussion followed among Councilmembers and Mr. Gaytan, wherein Mr. <br />Gaytan stated he was acting on a directive from the City Manager, to <br />make the Council aware of these matters. Mr. Gaytan said he takes <br />direction from the City Manager and City Council. <br />After additional discussion, on Council consensus, Item No. 23 - Council <br />approval to submit application to the League of California Cities for <br />Municipal Golf Program; and Item No. 25 - Council approval to pursue <br />Land Acquisition of 4.2 acres of Southern Pacific Transportation Com- <br />pany property between Congress and "O" Streets, west of Veterans Park; <br />were referred back to Staff for submission to the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission for their review and recommendation. <br />Councilman Lofy stated he would go along with Council's decision, how- <br />ever, he felt that Mr. Gaytan was following the directive from the City <br />Manager in preparing these reports and bringing them to the City Council <br />for review and consideration. <br />W <br />rJUN 2 5 -' ��� <br />
