Moved by Councilman Lofy, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve the
Consent Calendar. Unanimous vote.
CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
Bids
City Manager Stratton advised the bid results for the Westside Valley
Park site were not available at the time the Agenda Report was prepar-
ed. Bids were opened on Monday, September 30th, and seven proposals
were received, with Bull Fence Company being the low bidder at
$34,684.72.
City Manager Stratton stated it is planned to have wrought iron fencing
along Pepper Avenue and chain link along San Bernardino Avenue. The
chain link fencing is felt to be temporary, pending discussion with the
Rialto School District and its plans for activities in that area.
Councilman Roman asked about the design of the top of the fencing.
Public Works Director John Hutton responded he did not have the bid
specifications with him, however, in all probability and for alleviation
of liability, the wrought iron fencing would have the top flattened and
the chain link would have the top rolled.
Mrs. Stratton concluded Staff would recommend the award of bid be made
to Bull Fence Company, in the amount of $34,684.72, for the Westside
Valley Park fencing.
Moved by Councilman Lofy, seconded by Councilman Roman, to approve
Staff's recommendation as outlined. Unanimous vote.
Closed Session
City Manager Stratton requested a Closed Session at the end of the
Meeting for Personnel Matters.
CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
Ordinance No. 0-18-91
City Attorney Brown introduced Ordinance No. 0-18-91 for Second Reading,
reading it as to number and title only:
ORDINANCE NO. 0-18-91 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
(Second Reading) OF COLTON AMENDING SECTIONS 6.16.240 AND 6.16
250 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE FOR SOLID
WASTE COLLECTION.
Moved by Councilman Roman, seconded by Councilman Lofy, to pass Second
Reading and adopt Ordinance No. 0-18-91. Unanimous vote.
2
OC1' 1 199i
