and Barbara Bratton, Explorer Post Advisors, for their outstanding <br />work with Post 245. <br />Chief Stratton concluded Staff recommends that officer George Nunez <br />and Barbara Bratton, and the members of Police Explorer Post 245, be <br />commended for their dedication and outstanding performance. <br />Officer Nunez and Mrs. Bratton gave Certificates of Recognition to <br />each member of Post 245. Certificates of Recognition were also given <br />to Officer Nunez by Mayor Gonzales and to Mrs. Bratton by Councilman <br />Roman. <br />Certificate of Recognition <br />Mayor Gonzales presented a Certificate of Recognition to Scott Kovach, <br />Colton Police Department Dispatcher, for his heroic efforts in helping <br />to catch a grand -theft auto suspect. <br />Proclamations <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a Proclamation declaring October 6 through <br />12, 1991, as PUBLIC POWER WEEK. The Proclamation was accepted by <br />Electric Utility Director, Gale Drews. <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a Proclamation declaring September 22 <br />through 28, 1991, as CALIFORNIA RIDESHARE WEEK. The Proclamation <br />was accepted by Community Development Director, Jaime Aguilera. <br />Legislation <br />Mayor Gonzales referred to his memorandum regarding proposed Federal <br />legislation, Johnston/Breaux Base Closure Amendment, and a proposed <br />City Resolution objecting to this legislation. <br />Mayor Gonzales advised the City has been requested by the Inland Valley <br />Development Agency to adopt a resolution and that letters be sent to <br />our local Congressmen and Senators, with a copy of the resolution. <br />Mayor Gonzales concluded he would recommend and ask for Council's <br />support in adopting Resolution No. R-88-91. <br />Moved by Councilman Roman, seconded by Councilman Lofy, to adopt RESO- <br />LUTION NO. R-88-91. Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-88-91 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON ADOPTING AN OFFICIAL POSITION WITH <br />REGARD TO THE PROPOSED FEDERAL LEGISLATION <br />JOHNSTON/BREAUX BASE CLOSURE AMENDMENT. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Historic Landmark <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />3 <br />SSP 1. 7 1991 <br />
