ORDINANCE NO. 0-24-92 - ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />(Second Reading) COLTON, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE LEVY OF A <br />SPECIAL TAX IN COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICT NO. <br />88-1. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-25-92 - ORDINANCE OF COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICT NO. <br />(Second Reading) 90-1 (MOUNT VERNON CORRIDOR) OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON AUTHORIZING THE LET'' OF A SPECIAL TAX <br />WITHIN COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICT NO. 90-1 <br />(MOUNT VERNON CORRIDOR) OF THE CITY OF COLTON. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />Library Board Armointment <br />As recommended by Mayor Gonzales, motion by Councilmember Cisneros, seconded by <br />Councilman Rehrer, to approve the appointment of Rev. Robert K. Johnson to fill an <br />unexpired term to the Library Board until June of 1994. Unanimous vote. <br />CORRESPONDENCE-. <br />Street Name han e <br />Mayor Gonzales acknowledged receipt of Mr. Jesse aldivia's written request for street <br />name change from "Healing Waters" back to 'Larch." Mr. Valdivia remarked that our <br />forefathers had the presence of mind to separate matters between church and state. He said <br />that The Healing Waters Church had obtained the name change to increase its membership. <br />He said some residents of that street abject to the name, approached him to request the <br />change. Farther, Mr. Valdivia said he found out that there was a fee of $245 for the name <br />change and asked that this fee be waived. <br />Mr. Jerry Kagarise, 1058 W, H Street, told of the day when he came across Healing Waters <br />Drive which led him to the church of that name. He attributed that experience to his present <br />success. He urged that the name be allowed to remain. <br />Mrs. Hazel E. Olson, 947 E. Olive, wondered ghat impact would be wrought by a street <br />name change. Notice must be provided to the Post office, all utilities to each house, and <br />maps. Not many people live on that street, whir weren't they present to voice their <br />abjection at the hearing? <br />Pastor Steve Anderson, 880 N. Healing 'Maters Drive, informed that the reason they came <br />to the City Council three gears agcy for the name change was not for religious reasons but <br />for technical reasons.
