20, 1993, at 4:00 p.m. were selected.
Budget-erations
With budget sessions scheduled into the new fiscal year with budget
approval expected thereafter, City Manager Young requested City
Council's approval of a Resolution to allow the City's operation to
continue.
Moved by Council.member Cisneros, seconded by Councilmembe.r Sandoval, to
approve Resolution No. R-51-93. Unanimous vote.
RESOLUTION NO. R-51-93 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITE' COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COLTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
CONTINUE OPERATIONS AND EXPEND FUNDS AFTER
JULY 11 1993 FENDING ADOPTION OF A BUDGET FOR
THE NEW FISCAL YEAR.
Emergency item.:
City Manager Young reported it has been brought to his attention that
the City's swimming pool at Hutton Center, has been inspected by a
consultant as well as the City's fire, building and electrical
inspectors, prier to opening the pool.
Their findings show that the City Pool has been loosing approximately
2,900 gallons of water per day due to leaks. They found that the
chlorinating system has been tampered with, over the gears, and the
system does not meet cede. The cost for repairs to bring the pool. up to
cede and sealing of the leaks will total approximately $10,000. City
Manager Young said he could find the monies within the current budget if
the Council wants him to proceed with repairs. The pool will not be
opening on dune 19, 1993 as anticipated, but it can be ready in a couple
of weeks. Councilmembers asked if the repairs would take care of the
leakage that has been occurring over the past several years. Manager
Young said that it would. It is his understanding that the pool is
leaking at the seams and around the lighting system. Also, it was found
that the pool, which i.s aluminum, should not have been emptied during
the off season as this causes the seams to separate.
City Attorney Brown advised that this matter is not on the Agenda and
that the Council should consider the City Manager's remarks as public
comment. At this time, he is informing Council that he is taking the
necessary steps and, if there are any questions/ob ecti.ons, Members can
see the City Manager and discuss this.
RECESS:
The City Council recess at 54.50 P. M. to take up the Closed Session of
the Redevelopment Agency for the City of Colton and reconvened at 5:59
P. M., all Councilmembers present as heretofore.
5
