RECREATION AND HUMAN SERVICES DIRECTOR' S REPORTS <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Renaming ...... of Field <br />Director Bowman introduced Parks and Recreation Chairman Sal Rios <br />who spoke about Mr. Ralph Lopez Jr., decedent, who had contributed <br />many service hours to this community in his fight against drugs and <br />gangs. There was a petition by citizens of Colton to rename the <br />Colton Little League Field in Mr. Lopez,' honor. <br />Motion by Councilmember Bennett, seconded by Councilmember <br />Cisneros, to approve the renaming of the Colton Little League Field <br />to the RALPH "BAM BAM11 LOPEZ JR. FIELD. Motion carried. Unanimous <br />vote. <br />Renaming -of Boxing Gym <br />Director Bowman recounted the many contributions of Mr. Savas <br />Robledo who was active in forming the Colton Boxing Club. As a <br />positive role model for the youth of the community, Mr. Robledo, <br />deceased, dedicated a large portion of his life promoting the sport <br />of boxing. He received many honors and awards for this outstanding <br />community service. Mr. Robledo also volunteered as an active Scout <br />Leader and organizer in the City of Colton.
