R-
47-93,
Motion was made by Councilmember Beltran, seconded by Councilmember Bennett,
to approve the Consent Calendar, except for Item Nos. 11 and 13, Unanimous vote.
Discussion No. 13:
Councilmember Beltran complained about -the urgency attached to this item and asked
that this matter be tabled, with Item leo. 32, for the workshop with the Utilities
Commission. Councilmember Beltran invited Cllr. Aguilar, a member of the San
Bernardino Municipal Water District Board, to spear on this subject. Mr. George
Aguilar explained that with BBVM B approval and BA IPA approval, funding for this
project was in place. He believed there was no pressure as to this matter since the
City had worked on this problem for the past ten years. The SBVM B was led to
believe that the City had approved this action and it was coming on board, Mr.
,Aguilar stated they had stuck their necks out and the last increment of funding had
been set aside for the City of Colton. If Colton did not approve this action, and at a
later time determined to move ahead, funding would be available for three times the
price. The City would then have to shop around for capacity. He indicated that
certain cities had bought extra capacity, such as, Chino or Orange.
Motion by Councilmember Coop, seconded by Councilmember Bennett, to accept and
approve Item 13. Unanimous vote.
Abs rice
Councilmember Cook announced that she would not be present at the June 17, 1993"
adjourned meeting.
4
k J ,5 n, I,z
