Item do. i 7 <br />Councilmember Bennett informed Council about Rita Coronado, a counselor, has <br />worked with the courts to agree that taggers will be sentenced to work with the <br />City's Early Intervention Program to clean graffiti. Also, she has arranged to have <br />businesses dedicate a wall for graffiti art. Councilmember Bennett asked that the City <br />Council send Rita Coronado a commendation for this work. Mayor Gonzales agreed, <br />MAYOR & COUNCIL ITEMS <br />Mayor Gonzales presented a Resolution of Recognition to Cris Luna, a Colton High <br />School student, who had qualified to compete in the national Vocational -Industrial <br />Clubs of America Sheet !Metal Competition by winning the gold medal in sheet metal <br />manufacturing at the regional competition, <br />Nominations -Commissions <br />Councilmember Rios, announced his nomination of Robert S. Bridgman for the Mobile <br />Home Rent Review Commission and the nomination of Kathryn Pochop for the CFD <br />Commission. <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Cisneros, seconded by Councilmember Rios, to <br />approve the nominations. Unanimous vote. <br />!'payor Gonzales announced that the Parks and Recreation Commission have not had <br />a quorum for the last three meetings; therefore, the City Council has been asked to <br />proceed with the Citizen Award dominations. Motion made by Councilmember Rios, <br />seconded by Councilmember Sandoval, to approve the Citizen Award dominations as <br />submitted. Unanimous vote. <br />Councilmember Sandoval inquired about the Parks and Recreation Commission and its <br />lack of quorum, He asked if there were discernible problems. <br />Mr. Sal Rios, 1821 Evelyn Circle, stated he was a member of the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission and he spoke about the frustration of the past 8 months to <br />meet .and conduct business. He stated that without a director problems could not be <br />addressed. He asked the City Council to check on their appointees. Councilmember <br />Cook pointed out that Council Members are not kept informed as to the non- <br />attendance of their representatives.
