( 13) Sewer <br />Approved Termination Agreement for the RIX Demonstration Project. <br />Motion by Councilmember Beltran, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to approve and <br />accept the Consent Calendar, with Item S removed for discussion, carried. <br />Unanimous Obote. <br />ITEM DI CUSSION: <br />Item 6: Are mens <br />City Council expressed their concern of allowing a neighbor city to encroach on our <br />sphere of influence and questioned the reason and length for this water agreement, <br />permitting Montecito Memorial Park to obtain temporary water services from the City <br />of Loma Linda. Public Utilities Department submitted the agenda report and Acting <br />Public Works Director Hutton said he was not thoroughly familiar with the matter; <br />however, it appeared the cemetery planned construction and required water which <br />may be undeliverable by the City of Colton. It was not unclear whether the water <br />requested was for domestic or irrigation water supply, Mr. Hutton stated that such <br />agreements have been negotiated in the past with the understanding that when the <br />required services are available through the City of Colton, the agreement ends. Mr. <br />Hutton asked for additional time to review and study the issue and return at the next <br />Council meeting. <br />Motion by Councilmember Sandoval, seconded by Councilmember Beltran, to table <br />this agenda item until the next meeting carried. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR & COUNCIL ITEMS <br />Recoa nition <br />Mayor Gonzales read proclamation declaring Poppy Gays from May 18 to 22, 1993. <br />The proclamation was presented to Mrs. June Brown, representing the Colton <br />American Legion Post 155 Auxiliary. She thanked the City for its support and asked <br />everyone to buy and wear a poppy. <br />Meeting Hour Change <br />Mayor Gonzales indicated there was a request from several Councilmernbers for a <br />change of the Meeting hour from 7:30 P. M. to 6.00 P. M. Because of other <br />commitments, Councilmember Bennett requested that the start time be 6:30 P. M. <br />Motion by Councilmember Bennett, seconded by Councilmember Sandoval to change <br />the City Council meeting hour from 7:30 P. M. to 6:30 P. M., carried. Unanimous <br />vote.
