Director Johnson reported on the following three areas la Drug Free Workplace Policy - The Federal Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988 requires all federal contractors to adopt a drug awareness program. Federal contractors with contracts in excess o $25,.000 must certify that they have a. drug free workplace. In addition, they must have a: policy notifying employees that manufacture, distribution, dispersion, possession or use of controlled, substances on City premises or during work hours is prohibited and that discipline will, e taken against employees who violate the policy. Each succeeding City Manager has signed a similar polis memo and a copy has been provide, to each new employee hired by the City since this law took effect.
