Director Johnson responded it was not. In response to <br />ouncilmemb r Bennett f s question on step advancement, Personnel <br />Director Johnson stated there were five steps w lith 6 months service <br />between A and B steps and 1 year service between each of the <br />succeeding steps. Councilmember Bennett asked what would be <br />required if Council wanted to change these step requirements. <br />Personnel Director Johnson stated that this change would require <br />meet and confer with employee union representatives. <br />Coun ilme b r Sandoval recalled that Parks Division has been <br />removed from the Recreation/Human Servide Department and noted <br />that one of the Duties of the Director of Recreation and Human <br />Services is to "Plan and develop parks,, direct and rev.iew the <br />construction of the Cityfs park facilities." Personnel Director <br />Johnson stated that this position will be involved in participating <br />and providing -input as to design and layout of the Cityfs pars <br />even though no Longer involved in the maintenance and upkeep <br />There was brief discussion as to € uali. i. a i ons regarding knowledge <br />of laws, regulations and ordinances affecting departmental <br />operations, Personnel ,director Johnson identifi d tneed o <br />understand the applicable laws such as American Disabilities Act. <br />Councilmem,ber Sandoval added the knowledge was also necessary <br />regarding activities related to senior citizens, a. uati a and peel <br />maintenance. <br />Motion by Councilmember Sandoval, seconded by Councilmember <br />Bennett, to accept staff recommendation, approve Resolution No. <br />R- <br />103-93, and to include knowledge of special programs -mentioned <br />above. Unanimous vete <br />lbei No. 11: Ccuncilmember Bennett inquired if the funds would sit <br />I <br />n the contingency fund and if there was a time -framed Community <br />Development Director Zamora replied, "Yes" and. "There was none." <br />Item No. 12: Councilmember Bennett asked about the condition.for <br />proof of insurance. She expressed concern that the event would be <br />cancelled for lack of insurance.
