(19) CUA/Personnel — Approved request for recruitment and ratification of employee <br />appointments to four (4) full-time authorized positions of Maintenance Workers I <br />and II in the Water Division of Colton Public Utilities. <br />CITY TREASURER'S REPORT: <br />Report for June 2001 <br />MOTIONIVOTE: Motion/second by CM Sanders/Ramos to receive and file the City <br />Treasurer's reports for June 2001, carried with no opposition. <br />STAFF REPORTS: <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Agreement with Big League Dreams <br />Assistant City Manager Holliman recalled that on July 17, City Council approved the <br />planning, design and construction services agreement subject to modifications <br />regarding the payment schedule and an "out" clause after 120 days, if the City was <br />unable to procure land. Rick Odekirk, Management Director, provided an overview of <br />the project, and introduced the team: Jeff Odekirk, Management Director; Ron Odekirk, <br />Consultant; Scott Latellia, CEO; Steve Navarro, Vice -President of Operations; Sandra <br />Huerta, Director of Group Events; Don Webber, Vice -President of Development; Tony <br />Barton, Parks and Recreation Director City of Cathedral City; Mark Kressie, former <br />Coach of Los Angeles Dodgers (25 yrs); William E. Simons and Sons, Investment and <br />Financial Partner <br />In response to specific inquiry, City Attorney Carvalho indicated there were certain <br />conditions in the agreements that protected the City's interest. She stated that <br />proposed amendments were made to the consulting and planning portion of the <br />agreement. <br />MOTIONIVOTE: Motion/second by CM De La Rosa/Ramos to approve staff <br />recommendation, carried upon unanimous vote. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S AND CITY CLERK'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />City Attorney Carvalho announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session <br />to discuss the following item: <br />(A) PERSONNEL APPOINTMENT <br />Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957 <br />Position: Public Services Director <br />City Council Mins August 21, 2001 6 <br />
