(9) Claims — Approved denial of claim against the City of Colton submitted by Rudy Tovar. <br />REMOVED Alma & Jennifer Muneton claim. <br />STAFF REPORTS: <br />COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Policy for the Naming of City Parks Park Features and Communitv Facilities <br />Request Approval of Amendment to Resolution No. R-1 16A-93 Establishing Policy for the Naming <br />of City Parks, Park Features and Community Facilities, RESOLUTION NO. R-108-03. <br />Community Services Director Kenny presented an overview of the agenda report and requested <br />approval of staff's recommendation to approve and adopt Resolution No. R-108-03. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Cynthia Ramirez addressed the council regarding her concerns regarding the amendment to <br />resolution. <br />CM Mitchell clarified statements addressed in public comment and continued by expressing his <br />concerns with the amended resolution. CM De La Rosa requested clarification procedures for <br />park name change application, and notification of honoree when facility name change application <br />received. <br />Motion/second by CM De La Rosa/Ramos <br />CM Chastain expressed her concerns for future applications of attempted name change of <br />Veterans Park, and costs of plaque to honoree or family. City Attorney Derleth suggested that <br />City establish policy guidelines for signs or plaques, and indicate the application would have to <br />include the necessary language to include partial cost for plaque, clarify that removal of name <br />notification to honoree and/or family would be done to the extent reasonably capable, any <br />renaming of any facility can only be made upon application of a councilmember and the process <br />of the application will be conducted. Motion amended by CM De La Rosa and the second to <br />the motion to approve and adopt R-108-03 to include additional language when removal of an <br />honoree is potential the city will make a reasonable attempt to locate and provide notice to the <br />person and/or their family. <br />Vote: Motion carried with CM Zamora absent and CM Mitchell voting "NO". <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />At 7:02 p.m., Mayor Bennett declared the Regular Meeting adjourned. <br />arolina P.
