assistance in the evacuations and protection of homes that were <br />not occupied due to looters for as long as five days at a time. <br />Members acknowledged Police and Fire staff as well as other <br />departments such as Library who read to children and Eric Fraser <br />as air dispatcher. <br />✓ Recognition - Public Services Director Kenny presented and recognized Joey <br />Hill, of Partnerships With Industry, who recently received an award <br />for outstanding employee from the Inland Empire Committee on <br />Employment of People with Disabilities. Also recognized were <br />Lance Dean, John Simmerod, Tyrone Powell, Cosie Santiago, Job <br />Coach and Director Katie Wheeler. <br />✓ Recognition - Public Services Director Kenny presented and recognized Joey <br />Hill, Lance Dean, John Simmerod, Tyrone Powell, and Cosie <br />Santiago, Job Coach for the service they provide to the City of <br />Colton. <br />✓ Proclamation -Councilmember Ramos read and presented to Chairman Gasca <br />and Co -Chairman Ruben Alvarado from Post 155 for Veterans <br />Days activities. <br />✓ Presentation - Dr. Diane Woods presented and shared the handout with council <br />regarding the importance of the Health Plan initiative. <br />✓ Presentation - City Manager Parrish presented to Finance Director DeAlwis, <br />Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in financial reporting. <br />ORDINANCES: <br />First Reading <br />Regulation of Private Security Guards <br />Waive Full Reading and Pass First Reading of an Ordinance of the City Council of the <br />City of Colton Adopting Chapter 5.50 of the Colton Municipal Code Relating to <br />Regulation of Private Security Guards, Ordinance No. 0-24-03. <br />Motion/second by CM Chastain/Hernandez to waive full reading and pass first reading of <br />Ordinance No. 0-24-03.
