He announced that Moss Bros. of Colton had recently donated a vehicle that was going to be used for a mobile recreation program. Superintendent Byas suggested that scheduled use of Colton High School field be reviewed due to maintenance work during dates listed. Mayor Bennett explained the importance in forming the student commissioners. CM Mitchell also spoke in favor of this commission and his concern with the delay in its formation. CM Zamora requested assistance from the Board in reestablishing the shadowing day for Colton High School Seniors. Rick Dischinger, Director of Administrative Services, provided an overview on current safety concerns in regards to crosswalk at McKinley School. He suggested that the City consider the need of a crosswalk at Serrano and Johnston. Also discussed was the need for additional crossing guards. Mr. Dischinger reported that teachers are volunteering to be crossing guards. Discussion ensued about safety and consistent training methods. The following citizens addressed the Council and School Board Members: Anita Gutierrez representing Assemblyman John Longville and Mark Hoover, Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. Board member Lopez -Carson acknowledged former Board member Abril and his guest candidate Martin Valdez. Mayor Bennett challenged the Board members to for a Bridges Committee within the next 30 Days. Boardmember Brinker affirmed that he would accept the challenge and serve on the committee. At 7:49 p.m., with consensus of Council and Board of Education, Mayor Bennett and President Ibarra declared the Special Meeting adjourned. Olivia R.
