Discussion continued with CM Hernandez acknowledging Council and staff on their dedication
to this item and its revisions.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Ms. Williams expressed her concerns regarding the original petition for street name change that
she had submitted at a previous meeting. She felt that the requirements had been adequately
met and wanted to know the decision on their application for street name change. City Manager
Parrish explained that her question pertained to the following item and would be addressed at
that time.
Vote: Motion carried with CM De La Rosa/Ramos/Chastain absent
Street Narne Change
Approve and Adopt a Resolution to Authorize the Street Name Change of Larch Avenue to
Miracle Lane, RESOLUTION NO, R-35-05. (Item #15, 415105 agenda) Amended agenda report
was handed to council with correction to recommendation requesting denial for street name
change of Larch Avenue to Miracle Lane.
City Manager Parrish presented for Council consideration and approval of staff's
recommendation that Council deny street name change of Larch Avenue to Miracle Lane without
prejudice, and explained the change in the policy as it related to Ms. Williams.
Motion/second by CM Hernandez/Suchil to approve and adopt Resolution No. R-35-05 to deny
street name change without prejudice.
Discussion continued with CM Mitchell/Hernandez explaining that this was a tough issue,
because a policy was now in place which required the citizen to re -apply with the new policy
conditions.
City Attorney Martinez further clarified that staffs recommendation was to'deny the request
without preju6ce, allowing the applicant to refile the application in compliance with the new
policy and voting "Yes" would mean you agree with the denial without prejudice.
Motion carried with CM Mitchell voting "NO" and CM De La Rosa/Ramos/Chastain absent.
ORDINANCES:
Cable Television Franchise Aareement
Waive Full Reading and Pass First Reading of an Ordinance to Approve the Cable Television
Franchise Agreement between the City of Colton and Adelphia Cable and Authorize the City
Manager to Execute the Agreement on behalf of the City, and Waiving certain Procedural
requirements as allowed by the Municipal Code, ORDINANCE NO. 0-06-05.
