The amount of $5,700.00 is budgeted for expenses for trip. <br />Discussion included the need to discuss the involvement to be in a partnership with the Sister <br />City of Rio Grande; the need to involve the citizens of Colton; the agenda report approving the <br />Sister City of Rio Grande outline the reasons for the Sister City Program; and revisit this item in <br />detail after the first of the year. <br />With consensus of the councilmembers, a sub committee would be formed that would include <br />CM Suchil/Hernandez and Mayor Bennett. The sub -committee would meet to discuss the <br />concerns presented by council and return with a report and recommendations between now and <br />the first of the year. This would allow Council to make the determination as to the level of <br />participation by the city to fulfill what is outlined in the agreement between the City of Rio <br />Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico and the City of Colton. <br />SART Committee <br />Mayor Bennett announced the names of the members of the SART Committee: Dana Aaker, <br />Ivor Burton, Fred Cordova, Deborah Kobayashi, Linda Miranda, Frank Navarro, Carmen Orejel, <br />Jimmy Ramirez, Margaret "Peggy" Rayburn, and Randee Roberts. The first meeting is <br />scheduled for August 29, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. to be held at the Gonzales Center. <br />ACTION ITEM: <br />Appoint Two Members of the Colton City Council to Represent the City at the League's Annual <br />Conference. One Member shall serve as the Voting Delegate and one shall serve as the Voting <br />Alternate. <br />Discussion with consensus from Council, Mayor Bennett announced that Councilmember Suchil <br />shall be the Voting Delegate and Mayor Bennett shall serve as the Voting Alternate <br />2005 AUGUST 16 REG CC/RDA/CUA MEETING -6- <br />
