The amount of $5,700.00 is budgeted for expenses for trip. Discussion included the need to discuss the involvement to be in a partnership with the Sister City of Rio Grande; the need to involve the citizens of Colton; the agenda report approving the Sister City of Rio Grande outline the reasons for the Sister City Program; and revisit this item in detail after the first of the year. With consensus of the councilmembers, a sub committee would be formed that would include CM Suchil/Hernandez and Mayor Bennett. The sub -committee would meet to discuss the concerns presented by council and return with a report and recommendations between now and the first of the year. This would allow Council to make the determination as to the level of participation by the city to fulfill what is outlined in the agreement between the City of Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico and the City of Colton. SART Committee Mayor Bennett announced the names of the members of the SART Committee: Dana Aaker, Ivor Burton, Fred Cordova, Deborah Kobayashi, Linda Miranda, Frank Navarro, Carmen Orejel, Jimmy Ramirez, Margaret "Peggy" Rayburn, and Randee Roberts. The first meeting is scheduled for August 29, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. to be held at the Gonzales Center. ACTION ITEM: Appoint Two Members of the Colton City Council to Represent the City at the League's Annual Conference. One Member shall serve as the Voting Delegate and one shall serve as the Voting Alternate.
