Any person, firm or corporation violating or permitting or 12 causing the violation of any of the provisions of this Ordinance or of the Code 13 I P ado ted herein shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction 14 thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not more than Five Hundred Dollars 15 ($500. 00) or by imprisonment for a period of not more than six months, or by 161 both such fine and imprisonment. Each person, firm or corporation shall be 17 deemed guilty of a separate offense for each day during any portion of which any 18 violation of any provision of this Ordinance or said Code is committed, continued 19 or permitted by such person, firm or corporation and shall be punishable there - 20 fore as provided by this Ordinance. 21 SECTION EIGHT: If any section, sub -section, sentence, clause or 22 phrase of this Ordinance or said Code is for any reason held to be invalid or 23 unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such 24 decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of said Ordinance 25 or Code the City Council of the City of Colton hereby declares that it would have 26 passed said Ordinance and Code and each section, sub -section, sentence, clause 27 ! andP hrase thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, sub - 281 sections, clauses or phrases be declared invalid or unconstitutional. 29 SECTION NINE: All Ordinances in conflict herewith, -particularly 30 Ordinance No. 994 are hereby repealed. 31 32
