1 SECTION 12: Section 5.02.520 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby deleted in its <br />entirety and restated to read as follows: <br />2 <br />"5.02.520 Outdoor festivals. <br />3 For the purpose of this section, 'outdoor festival' means any music festival, dance <br />festival, 'rock' festival or similar musical activity, at which music is provided by paid or amateur <br />4 performers or by prerecorded means, which is held at any place other than in a permanent building <br />or permanent installation which has been constructed for the purpose of conducting such activities <br />5 or similar activities, and to which members of the public are invited or admitted for a charge or free <br />of cost. <br />6 For every person, firm or corporation conducting, managing or carrying on the <br />business of outdoor festivals, the tax shall be seven hundred fifty dollars per year." <br />7 <br />SECTION 13: Section 5.02.530 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby deleted in its <br />8 entirety and restated to read as follows: <br />9 "5.02.530 Carnival. <br />For the purposes of this section, 'carnival' means a group of two or more shows, <br />10 entertainments, games, devices, mechanical rides, amusements, vaudeville or dramatic or minstrel <br />performance, or games, tricks, devices or wheels, the result of the operation of which is dependent <br />11 upon chance or skill, and as a result of the operation of which things or representatives of value are <br />12 given or paid. The charging of a single admission fee to a carnival shall not limit the provisions of <br />this section. Carnivals shall pay the sum of forty dollars per day for each separate show, game, <br />13 amusement, vaudeville or dramatic performance, game of chance or skill. Food and drink stands <br />shall be charged at twenty-five dollars per day." <br />14 <br />SECTION 14: Section 5.02.550 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby deleted in its <br />15 entirety and restated to read as follows: <br />16 "5.02.550 Contractors. <br />Contractors possessing a State Contractors' License of any class shall pay an annual <br />17 license tax based upon gross receipts at the rates and classifications set forth in sections 5.02.390 <br />through 5.02.470." <br />18 <br />SECTION 15: Section 5.02.560 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby deleted in its <br />19 entirety and restated to read as follows: <br />20 "5.02.560 Convalescent hospitals, rest homes, hospitals and sanitariums. <br />For every person, firm or corporation conducting managing or carrying on the <br />21 business of operating or conducting a convalescent hospital, rest home, hospital or sanitarium, the <br />tax shall be as follows: <br />22 A. Up to and including twenty beds, one hundred fifty dollars per year or fraction <br />23 thereof; or <br />B. In excess of twenty beds, one hundred fifty dollars per year plus five dollars <br />24 per each bed above twenty beds per year or fraction thereof. <br />25 SECTION 16: Section 5.02.570 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby deleted in its <br />entirety and restated to read as follows: <br />26 <br />"5.02.570 Dancing -- Public dance without charge. <br />27 For every person, firm or corporation conducting, managing or carrying on a public <br />dance to which the public is admitted without charge, or at which the public is allowed to participate <br />28 in the dancing without charge, the tax is fifty dollars per quarter.
