1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />161 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-02-04 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 7.08 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO <br />ALLOW ANIMAL -RELATED FEES TO BE SET BY <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, various provisions of Chapter 7.08 of the Colton Municipal Code <br />establish specific fees for various purposes connected with dogs, including license fees, <br />impoundment fees, disposal fees, and fees for the apprehension of dogs escaped from <br />their owners; and <br />WHEREAS, these fees were set in 1968 and have never been adjusted to <br />reflect the City's increasing costs for providing these services, such that the revenue <br />received by the City through the fees represents a small fraction of the City's actual costs; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the fees charged for these animal - <br />related services should properly reflect the City's actual costs in providing these services, <br />and the most effective means of recovering such actual costs is to allow these fees to be <br />set by resolution. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1: Section 7.08.020 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby deleted <br />in its entirety and amended to read as follows: <br />"The finance director upon receipt of such application and the license <br />fee as set out in Section 7.08.010 shall issue and deliver to such owner or <br />possessor of a license, a receipt certifying the payment of the license fee <br />and setting forth the name and address of the applicant and a brief <br />description of the dog, together with the fact that it has been vaccinated as <br />provided herein and stating the number allotted to such dog, and he shall <br />deliver or cause to be delivered to the applicant a metallic tag which shall set <br />forth the year of the license and the number allotted to the dog, which tag <br />shall at all times be affixed to the collar, covering, harness or other article <br />worn by such dog. <br />1 <br />
