1 The finance director shall make a charge in an amount to be <br />determined by resolution of the city council for each duplicate license issued <br />2 to replace any license issued under the provisions of Section 7.08.010 <br />through 7.08.150 which has been lost or destroyed." <br />3 <br />SECTION 2: Section 7.08.030 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby <br />4 deleted in its entirety and amended to read as follows: <br />5 <br />6 "Every dog within the city found for which a license shall not have <br />been issued, as provided herein which shall not bear a tag as herein <br />7 provided, shall be impounded by the animal control officer for a period of <br />8 seventy-two hours, and in the event the owner or possessor of such dog <br />shall not, on or before the expiration of such period call for and claim such <br />9 dog and pay the license fee therefor and obtain a tag therefor and pay a fee <br />in an amount to be determined by resolution of the city council, the said dog <br />10 shall be disposed of by the animal control officer." <br />11 SECTION 3: Section 7.08.040 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby <br />12 deleted in its entirety and amended to read as follows: <br />13 "Every dog, cat or similar type animal, regardless of whether or not it <br />has a license, found running at large, loose or unrestrained in, along, or upon <br />14 any public street, sidewalk or place shall be impounded by the animal control <br />officer for a period of seventy-two hours. In the event the owner or <br />15 possessor of such dog, cat or similar type animal does not, on or before the <br />16 expiration of such period, call for and claim such dog, cat or similar type <br />animal and pay a pound fee in an amount to be determined by resolution of <br />17 the city council, the said dog, cat, or similar type animal shall be disposed of <br />by the animal control officer, provided, however, that should any dog, cat or <br />18 similar type animal so impounded bear a proper tag as herein provided or <br />other type of identification for contacting the animal's owner, the animal <br />19 control officer shall forward notice by mail postpaid to the person named as <br />2 0 owner at the address given in the city records at least seventy-two hours <br />before disposing of the dog, cat or similar type animal." <br />21 <br />SECTION 4: Section 7.08.050 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby <br />22 deleted in its entirety and amended to read as follows: <br />23 "Every person owning or harboring or having charge, custody, control <br />24 or possession of any dog, cat, or similar type animal shall not permit such animal to run <br />loose or unrestrained in, along or upon any public street, sidewalk or place." <br />25 <br />SECTION 5: Section 7.08.060 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby <br />26 deleted in its entirety and amended to read as follows: <br />27 "The animal control officer shall have the right to receive and dispose <br />28 of dogs delivered into his possession by the owners thereof and shall charge <br />a fee in an amount to be determined by resolution of the city council, for <br />each dog which has not been duly licensed." <br />2 <br />
