Chapter 2.66 is hereby added to the Colton Municipal Code to read <br />"Chapter 2.66 <br />RESERVE POLICE OFFICER CORPS <br />2.66.010 <br />Establishment of reserve police officer corps. <br />2.66.020 <br />Appointment of members. <br />2.66.030 <br />Requirements for appointment. <br />2.66.040 <br />Oath of office. <br />2.66.050 <br />Powers and duties. <br />2.66.060 <br />Identification and uniform. <br />2.66.070 <br />Volunteer status. <br />2.66.080 <br />Disability payments and death benefits. <br />2.66.090 <br />Removal from assignment — Resignation. <br />Section 2.66.010 Establishment of reserve police officer corps. <br />A reserve police officer corps (the "Reserve Corps") is hereby established to perform <br />such duties as are described in this chapter. <br />Section 2.66.020 Appointment of members. <br />The Chief of Police shall appoint the members of the Reserve Corps, who are hereinafter <br />called "Reserve Police Officer', subject to approval by the City Manager as authorized by the <br />City Council. Applications for appointment to the position of Reserve Police Officer shall be made <br />in writing on one or more forms provided by the City of Colton. <br />Section 2.66.030 Requirements for appointment. <br />Applicants for the position of Reserve Police Officer shall be required to meet the <br />minimum standards for appointment as determined by the City of Colton Human Resources <br />Department (the "Department") and the State of California Commission on Peace Officer <br />Standards and Training (POST), and Section 832.6(a)(1) of the Penal Code. <br />Section 2.66.040 Oath of office. <br />No person shall become a Reserve Police Officer until he or she has taken an oath to <br />- 1 - <br />
