Without limiting the authority of the Chief of Police to summarily dismiss any <br />Reserve Police Officer at any time without cause, any Reserve Police Officer who (i) fails to <br />adhere to the rules and regulations as established by the Chief of Police or his/her designee; or <br />(ii) attempts to use his or her identification or association with the Reserve Corps to evade arrest <br />or receipt of a citation, to evade compliance with any valid law or regulation, or for the purpose of <br />seeking private gain of any sort, shall be summarily dismissed by the Chief of Police. <br />C. Any Reserve Police Officer may resign from the Reserve Corps at any time upon <br />giving a written or verbal resignation to the Chief of Police or his/her designee. <br />SECTION 2: The provisions of this ordinance are severable and the invalidity of any <br />section, paragraph, phrase, clause or part of this ordinance shall not affect the validity or <br />effectiveness of the remainder of this ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after its adoption in <br />accordance with the provisions of California law. <br />SECTION 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and cause the <br />same or a summary thereof to be published within fifteen (15) days after adoption in a <br />newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in Colton, California. <br />PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED, this 15th day of March, 2005. <br />ATTEST: <br />CAROLINA P.
