E <br />E <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />15 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />29 <br />30 <br />31 <br />32 <br />1 Shall the City of Colton's Employees Retirement <br />Plan, originally adopted in 1945, be modified <br />2 effective July 1, 1977, to provide improved re- <br />tirement benefits to Colton Police Safety Em - <br />3 ployees, herein referred to as Local Safety Mem- <br />bers, on the basis of discretionary retirement <br />2 at age 50, with the local safety member receiving <br />a retirement of Two Percent (2%) of their final <br />compensation for each year of service (not to ex- <br />ceed Seventy-five Percent (75%) of final compensa- <br />tion) with compulsory retirement at age 60 (see <br />' California Government Code Section 21252.01); to <br />provide a widow's allowance of One-half (1/2) of <br />the local safety member's retirement benefits on <br />his death (see Californja Government Code Sections <br />21263 and 21263.1),; to provide retirement based <br />on the average of one highest year compensation <br />'instead of three highest years (see California <br />Government Code 5ection',20024.2); and to, provide <br />credit for prior militant' service (see California <br />Government Code Section 20930.3); and the levy of <br />only such property taxeslas will be necessary to <br />pay the City's share of Said benefits, be adopted? <br />SECTION 2. Said.Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized to <br />canvass the returns of said special municipal election which it is hereby re- <br />quested to consolidate with said statewide general election and said election <br />shall be held in all respects as if there were only one election, and only one <br />form of ballot shall be used. <br />SECTION 3. Said Board oflSupervisors is hereby requested q ested to issue <br />instructions to the County Registrar of Voters to take any and all steps neces- <br />sary for the holding of said consolidated election. <br />SECTION 4. The City of Colton recognizes that additional costs <br />be incurred by the County be reason of this consolidation and a w�11 <br />agrees <br />the County for any such costs. 9 to remburs <br />SECTION 5. That the City Clerk of the City of Colton is hereby <br />directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Clerk of the <br />Board of S-upervisors.of the County of San Bernardino. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the Cit of <br />Colton at a regular meeting thereof held o the 3rd da Y <br />Y ugust, 1976. <br />ABE E.
