RESOLUTION NO. 3686 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 3313, <br />REGULATING THE OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES TRANS- <br />PORTING PASSENGERS <br />RANSPORTING-PASSENGERS FOR HIRE AND EMERGENCY. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON: that <br />it is the intention of said City-Coun-cl to regulate the operation of motor <br />vehicles for hire and emergency, upon and along the streets of the City of <br />Colton, commencing on the 5th day of April, 1973, such regulations to be upon <br />the following terms: <br />Section 1. Definitions <br />A. For the purpose of this resolution the followingterms <br />shall be deemed and construed to have the meanings res- <br />pectively ascribed to them in this section, unless from <br />the particular context it clearly appears that some other <br />meaning is intended: <br />1. The term "taxicab" means and includes every vehicle <br />used for the public transportation of passengers' over <br />the streets of the City of Colton, but not over defined <br />routes, whether compensation is paid for such transport- <br />ation, and whether the charge to patrons is determined <br />and indicated by the mechanical calculation of a taxi- <br />meter as defined herein. <br />2.. The term "ambulance" means any privately owned emergency <br />motor vehicle (except a wheelchair passenger transport- <br />ation vehicle) equipped or used for the purpose of <br />medical transportation, including, but not restricted <br />to, emergency transportation, but shall not mean a fun- <br />eral coach or hearse. <br />3. The term "automobile for hi,re1° shall include every auto- <br />mobile or motor propelled vehicle by means of which pass- <br />engers are transported for hire upon any public street <br />within the City of Colton and not over a regular or def- <br />ined route, excepting vehicles embraced within the terms <br />
