SHEP-PARD OVERPASS" . <br />WHEREAS, Harry R. Sheppard, who was elected November 3, <br />1936 to the 75th Congress, served in the house of Representatives <br />for the longest period of time of any representative from this <br />District, served through the 88th Congress and retired in 1965, <br />was Dean of the California Delegation which was instrumental in <br />the development of the Air Material Command at Norton . Air Force <br />,Base; and <br />j j+T�Ep. AS, he was partially -responsible for the location of <br />i <br />I:aiser Steel Corporation in the' Fontana area; and <br />WHEREAS, !dill Street traverses from No_ton Air Force <br />Base at its eastern boundary to the east boundary of the City -of <br />.San Bernardino to Eucalyptus Street in Rialto %.7hence it becomes <br />'merrill Street and thence to Kaiser Steel Corporation in Fontana; <br />ar_d <br />18 <br />WHEREAS, Congressman <br />Sheppard 'has <br />made many <br />contributions <br />19 <br />to the development and progress <br />I; <br />of this <br />coz :unity, <br />20 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED BY <br />THE i%LT�YOR <br />AND CO�;LNiON <br />21 COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERN ARDItiO that said City, by and <br />22 ithrough its governing representatives, does name the Mill Street <br />�` "Harry R Sheppard Overpass". <br />2� Overpass the Ha r1 Lrp. <br />24 I HEREBY.
