AGREEMENT <br />THIS A]T is made and entered into this 8th day <br />Of March 1978, by and between the CITY OF SAN BEIdQMINO, <br />a municipal corporation, hereinafter referred to as "San Bernardino", and <br />the CITY OF COLTON, a municipal corporation, hereinafter referred to as <br />"Colton" <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WfiEREAS, the parties to the Agreement provide fire protection <br />and rescue serviceswithin their respective territorial limits: and <br />WBEREAS, certain areas of San Bernardino and Colton are <br />immediately adjacent to each other; and <br />tn1HEREAS, it is mutually advantageous to both San Bernardino <br />and Colton to jointly respond to fires in these areas; and <br />WIEREAS, this joint response is authorized by California <br />State Government Code Sections 5001 and 55632, <br />N09, T EEEFORE, it is hereby agreed by and between each and <br />all of the parties hereto, as follows: <br />1. A ' joint response zone shall be established as encompassed <br />by the red line on the map marked Exhibit 'W' and attached hereto and <br />- incorporated herein by reference. <br />Both San Bernardino and Colton are signatories of "'Ihe California <br />Disaster and Civil Defense Master Mutual Aid Agreement", as well as an <br />East San Bernardino Valley Mutual Aid Agreement, effective June 12, 1972. <br />Nothing in this present contract should be construed to detract from or <br />otherwise interfere with these previous agreements in any way <br />2.
