221 <br />23 <br />1 <br />24'i <br />25! <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3840 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF <br />AN APPLICATION WITH THE ECONOMIC DEVELOP- <br />MENT ADMINISTRATION, U. S. DEPARTMENT OF <br />COMMERCE, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, FOR <br />A GRANT UNDER THE TERMS OF PUBLIC LAW <br />89-136, AS AMENDED.. <br />WHEREAS, under the terms of Public Law 89-136, as amended, pro - <br />vides special Economic Development and Adjustment Programs to help State and <br />'local areas meet special needs arising from actual or threatened unemployment as <br />la result of economic dislocation or other severe changes in economic conditions; <br />I and <br />WHEREAS, under the terms of Public Law 89-136, as amended, the <br />United States of America has authorized the making of grants to a consortium of <br />1cities representing such areas, of which Colton is a part; and <br />WHEREAS, Grants may be made to develop or carry a plan of economic <br />adjustment for any of the following: public facilities, public services, busi- <br />ness <br />usi- <br />ness development, planning, technical assistance, research', training,.or other <br />E <br />appropriate assistance to carry out an approved plan; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON THAT: <br />1. The City of Colton is authorized to participate in the filing <br />of the applications necessary to pursue a_Planning Grant under <br />.Public Law 89-136, as amended. <br />2. Thomas J. Calabrese, City Manager, be authorized to prepare, <br />sign, and process application documents as an authorized <br />representative of the City of Colton. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 24th day of July, 1978. <br />FRANK A.
