1 <br />Fl <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />.3 PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 3500, ET. SEQ, REPRESENTATIVES <br />4 OF THE CITY OF COLTON AND.OF THE SAN BERNARDINO PUBLIC EMPLOYEE'S ASSOCIATION <br />5 HAVE MET AND HAVE REACHED AN UNDERSTANDING TO RECOMMEND THAT THE CITY COUNCIL <br />6 GIVE CONSIDERATION TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />7 <br />8 STA <br />9 1. <br />BY/CALL OUT POLICY: <br />The City Manager may invoke the Standby/Call Out system when it is necessary <br />10 to insure that appropriate levels of service be maintained and provided to the <br />14 <br />15 <br />I <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />Rxa <br />23 1 <br />NPIR <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />(City of Colton. <br />2. Unless, as specified by the City Manager pursuant to this section, there <br />shall be no Standby/Call Out system. The City and the employees have agreed <br />to a "catch as catch can" system whereby all affected employees will respond <br />to emergency service call outs when called upon to do so. <br />It shall be the Department Head's responsibility to establish a call out <br />list for those qualified employees. The order of those employees assigned shall <br />be in a fair and equitable manner. <br />3. In the event the City Manager invokes the Standby/Call out policy the <br />following compensation shall be paid: <br />a. The compensation shall be earned from Friday, end of working day <br />to the following Friday, end of working day, for a period not to <br />exceed seven (7') days. <br />b. Standby: For requiring an employee to be on standby, the City <br />shall pay the employee eight (8) hours of :accruable compensatory <br />time off (CTO). <br />C. Call Out: For every call out the employee shall be paid two (2) <br />hours of overtime in addition to the actual hour for hour time <br />worked. (Example; an employee responding to a one (1) hour call <br />out would receive three (3) hours of overtime pay.) <br />
