PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 3500, ET. SEQ. REPRESENTATIVES OF <br />THE CITY OF COLTON AND, SAN BERNARDINO PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION FIRE CHAPTER <br />jHAVE MET AND HAVE REACHED AN UNDERSTANDING TO RECOMMEND THAT THE CITY COUNCIL <br />`ADOPT THE FOLLOWING: <br />I. PAYMENT OF ONE-HALF P.E.R.5. RETIREMENT <br />The City of Colton does hereby agree to pay one-half of the employee's <br />portion of PERS retirement for Fire employees. The City shall make a timely <br />application to PERS and said benefit shall on begin u approval g P PP by PERS. <br />j A perquisite equal to one-half of the above employee's portion of PERS <br />retirement shall be paid to such employees retroactively from July 1, 1978 <br />until commencement of the above retirement payment. <br />2. SHIFT TRADING POLICY <br />The City does hereby agree to amend the shift trade policy as specified in <br />the Memorandum of Understanding of 8-25-77 to the following: <br />a. Fire shift employees are permitted to exchange up to 72 hours per year <br />on a pre -arranged basis approved by the Fire Chief. <br />b. Time exchanged may be by shift (24 hours), half shift (12 hours), <br />one-third shift (8 hours) or one-sixth shift (4 hours)- <br />C. Shift time exchange requests shall be initiated with shift captain <br />and entered in the company log. <br />d. All time exchange shall be repaid within a 90 -day period. 9 <br />e, Time exchange shall be with equal rank, and be agreeable by both i <br />parties. <br />f. It shall be the responsibility of the shift captain to record all <br />time exchanged. <br />g. Requests to exchange time shall be given to the shift captain at <br />least 72 hours prior to intended time exchange, except in an emergency. <br />
