MAXIMUM DEMAND: 3. The maximum demand in any months shall be the measured maximum kilowatt input indicated or recorded by instruments to be supplied by the utility during any fifteen minute metered interval in the month. When the demand is intermittent or subject to violent fluctuations, a five-minute interval may be used. POWER FACTOR ADJUSTMENT: 4. The charges shall be increased bye .50 for each kvar of reactive demand in excess of 0.6 times the kilowatt demand measured during the billing period. The kilovars of reactive demand shall be calculated by multiply- ing the kilowatts of measured maximum demand by the ratio of the kilovar- hours to the kilowatt-hours. Demands in kilowatts and kilovars shall be determined to the nearest unit. A ratchet device will be installed on the kilovar-hour meter to prevent its reverse operation on leading power factors. TEMPORARY DISCONTINUANCE OF SERVICE: 5. When the use of energy is seasonal or intermittent, no adjustments will be made for a temporary discontinuance of service. Any customers, prior to resuming service within 12 months after such service was discontinued, will be required to pay all charges which would have been billed if service had not been discontinued. FUEL COST ADJUSTMENT: 6. The rates above are subject to adjustment as provided for in schedule F.C.A. The applicable fuel cost adjustment billing factor set forth therein will be applied to all kwhr billed under this schedule.
