_ <br />3 <br />(1) "Parallel Operation" means that the electrical equipment of the Quali- <br />uali®fying'Facility, <br />fying Facility,the Department, and the Interconnection is designed and <br />t <br />Vii- <br />operated such that the instantaneous flow of electricity may occur in <br />F <br />either directionacross the Interconnection point between the Qualifying <br />Facility and the Department's transmission or distribution system. <br />(m) "Peak Output" means the maximum electrical output net of Station Use <br />from a Qualifying Facility and measured .in average kilowatts over a fif- <br />teen -minute period. <br />(n) "Point(s) of Interconnection" means the point(s) where the electrical " <br />conductors of the Qualifying Facility connect :with those of the Depart- <br />ment. <br />(o) "'Prudent Electrical Practices" means the practices, methods, and <br />i <br />equipment, as changed from time to time, that are commonly used in prud- <br />ent electrical engineering and operations to design and operate ,electri- <br />cal equipment lawfully and with safety, .dependability, efficiency, and <br />t <br />economy. <br />5 <br />(p) "Qualifying Facility" means a cogeneration facility or a small power <br />production facility, as defined under the regulations of the Federal <br />Energy Regulatory Commission (18 CFR Part 292.201). <br />(q) "Rating Period" means those hours during a month that are subject to <br />t <br />the same rate of payment for electricity ` delivered to the Department and <br />purchased .by the City from a Qualifying Facility. <br />(r) "Special Facilities" means the additions and renovations to the -De- <br />partment's transmission and distribution system, metering and recording <br />equipment, and those 'parts of the Interconnection furnished by the Depart- <br />ment at the request of the Qualifying Facility which are needed to accom- <br />modate the electricity delivered to the Department by the Qualifying <br />
