_ 3 (1) "Parallel Operation" means that the electrical equipment of the Quali- uali®fying'Facility, fying Facility,the Department, and the Interconnection is designed and t Vii- operated such that the instantaneous flow of electricity may occur in F either directionacross the Interconnection point between the Qualifying Facility and the Department's transmission or distribution system. (m) "Peak Output" means the maximum electrical output net of Station Use from a Qualifying Facility and measured .in average kilowatts over a fif- teen -minute period. (n) "Point(s) of Interconnection" means the point(s) where the electrical " conductors of the Qualifying Facility connect :with those of the Depart- ment. (o) "'Prudent Electrical Practices" means the practices, methods, and i equipment, as changed from time to time, that are commonly used in prud- ent electrical engineering and operations to design and operate ,electri- cal equipment lawfully and with safety, .dependability, efficiency, and t economy. 5 (p) "Qualifying Facility" means a cogeneration facility or a small power production facility, as defined under the regulations of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (18 CFR Part 292.201). (q) "Rating Period" means those hours during a month that are subject to t the same rate of payment for electricity ` delivered to the Department and purchased .by the City from a Qualifying Facility. (r) "Special Facilities" means the additions and renovations to the -De- partment's transmission and distribution system, metering and recording equipment, and those 'parts of the Interconnection furnished by the Depart- ment at the request of the Qualifying Facility which are needed to accom- modate the electricity delivered to the Department by the Qualifying
